Can I book my storage container online?

Yes, through our online booking system you can safely secure your very own storage unit for both short or long term hires.

Is there a minimum rental period for my container?

Yes, the minimum rental period is just 1 month at Alert Self Storage. We require 1 months’ notice prior to terminating your rental agreement with us.

How do I access my storage container?

After completing your booking, we will provide you with all the details you need via email so you can safely access the site and obtain access to your new storage unit.

What size are your storage containers?

We offer storage unit sizes in 40 sq ft (mini), 80 sq ft (small) and 160 sq ft (large). Please note 40 sq ft (mini) is currently only available on the ground level.

How do I lock my container?

We supply you with a heavy duty padlock so you can lock your storage container. Please speak to our site manager or call 01604 620 629 to find out more.

Are your containers wind, water and rodent proof?

Yes, all our steel shipping containers are wind and watertight, protecting your goods from the elements. Vents on the container walls allow for air flow within the container to ensure your goods remain dry and secure.

What security measures are in place?

At Alert Self Storage we have invested in modern infrared CCTV across the site which is securely monitored by 24/7, 365 days a year by operators in a control room. Our large electric security gate only allows access for permitted users. The site is surrounded by perimeter palisade security fencing and a double stacked wall of containers on either side. All our containers come with secure padlocks to ensure the unit is lockable by the user only.

What are the payment terms?

To secure your storage container, upfront payment is required on the day of booking. Once booked, the payment is taken on the same day each month, on a rolling monthly rental contract. Once you terminate your storage with us, your agreement ends and no further charges will be taken.

Are there any restrictions on what I can store inside my container?

We do not allow storage of flammable goods, batteries, tyers, fuel, corrosive substances of any kinds, chemicals and of course, any live animals. If goods such as washing machines/ fridge freezers or other white goods are stored, they MUST be drained of any moisture prior to storing inside the container.

Can I have multiple storage units?

Yes, you can hire multiple storage units with us on both the ground and upper levels. Speak to our team to find out more about this.
